All divisions and brands under the Tata Motors Group saw a year-on-year decline in the first quarter of FY26.

Tata Motors Group sold nearly 3 lakh vehicles in the first quarter (Q1) of the financial year 2026 (FY26), which was a decline of 9 per cent compared to the same period last year. The Group includes the passenger vehicle and commercial vehicles divisions, as well as the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and Tata Daewoo brands.

All of the brands and departments under the Tata Motors Group have suffered from a decline in sales. The biggest loser in Q1 FY 26 is JLR with a year-on-year (YoY) decline of 11 per cent, when compared to the same period last year. JLR sold 87,286 units in Q1 FY26, which includes 2,339 units for Jaguar and 84,947 units for Land Rover.

Next in line is Tata Motors' passenger vehicle division, which sold nearly 1.25 lakh units in Q1 FY26, and has seen a YoY drop of 10 per cent. Even the commercial vehicles division and Tata Daewoo commercial vehicle brand saw a YoY decline of 6 per cent with 87,569 units sold in Q1 FY26.

The decline in sales can be attributed to declining demand worldwide, implications of tariffs imposed by multiple countries and rising geopolitical tensions across various regions in the world. In India, particularly, sales have seen a decline because of financial constraints and the monsoon season, as noted by FADA.
