Tata Motors has launched 10 new megachargers in India in partnership with Chargezone and Statiq. These chargers will have a minimum charging capacity of 120 kW. Tata Motors has installed these 10 chargers at strategic locations in cities and on highways.
Along with Chargezone, Tata Motors has installed three megachargers at on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway with one megacharger in Vadodara, Vapi and Ghorbunder each. Each charger is located at a distance of 150-200 km of each other. The 400 kW megacharger in Vadodara can charge six vehicles simultaneously, while the other three support 120 kW. On the Pune-Nashik highway, there is a Tata Motors-Chargezone megacharger with 120 kW support.
On the Delhi-Jaipur highway, Tata Motors and Statiq have installed the megachargers in Gurugram, Kaprivas, Hamzapur and Shahpura. Each of them are 60 km apart and have 120 kW charging support. Statiq and Tata Motors have installed a charger in Bengaluru, while Chargezone and Tata Motors have installed one in Udaipur.
Tata Motors says its EV owners will get 25 per cent discount for charging their cars at these 10 megachargers and will also get priority service. All these can be accessed through Tata Motors’ iRA app, and these charging stations will also have personnel to assist customers.
This will be very beneficial, not just for Tata EV owners, but also for EV owners from other brands, as it will allow them to reduce range anxiety on long journeys. Tata Motors plans to have 4 lakh charging stations in India by 2027. The brand plans to have 500 megachargers in India.
