Tata Motors has launched the Curvv, Punch, Nexon and Tiago EV in Sri Lanka, in partnership with DIMO, who is also the country's only authorised distributor for Tata Motors. Tata Motors already had a presence in India’s neighbouring country with commercial vehicles and the Nexon, and now has increased its portfolio to include three more cars. Tata Motors is the first manufacturer to start importing cars into Sri Lanka, after the import ban was lifted in the country earlier this year.
While not launched in Sri Lanka yet, Tata Motors also showcased the Punch EV, Nexon EV and Curvv EV in the country. While the full price list hasn’t been revealed, Tata Motors mentioned that prices for the Tiago EV, its most affordable model in Sri Lanka, start at LKR 8.7 million (roughly ₹25.60 lakh), which is nearly as expensive as the Tata Safari’s most expensive variant (Accomplished+ 6S Stealth priced at ₹27.25 lakh).
The Curvv is the most expensive model in Sri Lanka, with prices starting at LKR 13.2 million (roughly ₹38.85 lakh). Prices for the Punch and Nexon start at LKR 10.6 million (roughly ₹31.20 lakh) and LKR 11.4 million (roughly ₹33.56 lakh).
Yash Khandelwal, Head International Business, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd, said, “Together with our long-time trusted partner, DIMO, we are confident in our ability to elevate Sri Lanka's mobility landscape to new heights and deliver an extraordinary driving experience for all.”
