Tata Motors has expanded its Nexon.ev lineup by introducing a new "Red Dark" edition, further enhancing the appeal of its popular electric SUV. Priced at ₹17.19 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the Red Dark edition is built on the top-spec Empowered 45+ variant and comes with a ₹20,000 premium over the base top-spec variant. The Red Dark edition is inspired by similar styling themes seen in the Safari and Harrier models, applying a combination of dark tones with red accents to give the electric SUV a more dynamic and sporty look.
The exterior of the Nexon EV Red Dark edition has undergone a complete blackout treatment, with subtle red accents adding a contrast that gives the car a striking presence. The front and rear sections feature these red highlights, with the most notable being the “Red Dark” badging on the front fenders. The vehicle’s visual appeal is further elevated by a special edition look that emphasizes its unique identity within the Nexon EV lineup.
The interior of the Red Dark edition is equally eye-catching. It features an all-red upholstery theme, contrasted by a black dashboard, and the headrests are embossed with the #Dark insignia. Tata Motors has upgraded the Red Dark edition with additional features to match its premium positioning. Notable inclusions are a new panoramic sunroof with voice control, a “frunk” (front trunk) for additional storage, dual digital displays, a 360-degree camera system, connected car technology, climate control with rear AC vents, and a full LED light package.
The Red Dark edition is powered by a 45 kWh battery pack, which has a claimed real-world range of 350 to 379 km. Tata Motors indicates that under ideal conditions, the range could potentially stretch to 489 km. In terms of charging, the Red Dark edition benefits from fast charging capabilities. Using a 60 kWh DC charger, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in just 40 minutes. Furthermore, the vehicle can reclaim 130 km of range in just 15 minutes under the same charging conditions.
