India's first turbocharged CNG car

The highly anticipated Tata Nexon iCNG has been unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, marking a significant milestone as India's first-ever turbocharged CNG car. This exciting addition to the popular Nexon lineup promises enhanced performance, wider fuel options, and potentially lower running costs, making it an attractive proposition for budget-conscious and eco-friendly car buyers.

Similar to recent Tata CNG cars, the Nexon iCNG utilises twin-cylinder CNG tanks positioned intelligently. This maximises CNG storage while maintaining ample cargo space by placing the spare wheel underneath the boot. Additionally, the easy-to-remove spare wheel with winch aid adds further practicality.

The Nexon iCNG has a single advanced ECU for switching between CNG and petrol modes. Factory-fitted CNG with advanced materials, micro switches, leak detection, and thermal incident protection. This prioritises safety, while direct CNG startup eliminates manual switching. Convenience and efficiency are enhanced with a modular fuel filler filter.

The addition of CNG expands the Nexon's appeal, offering buyers the choice between petrol, diesel, electric, and now CNG variants.

Tata

Official pricing information remains unavailable, but estimates suggest a premium of around ₹ 1.5 lakhs compared to the regular petrol Nexon. Launch details and further specifications are yet to be officially announced.

As we await official launch details and pricing information, stay tuned for further updates from Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024.
