The updated Tata Punch EV arrives with comprehensive changes, packing bigger battery pack options, more range, faster charging, and most important, a lower price tag.
Tata Motors introduced the Punch EV facelift bringing comprehensive upgrades to the electric SUV. The new Punch EV not only packs cosmetic upgrades and more features, but offers more range, faster charging, and most important, a lower asking price. The 2026 Punch EV facelift starts at ₹9.69 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). However, Tata is changing the game with the introduction of Battery as a Service (BaaS), which lowers the asking price to ₹6.49 lakh. Here’s everything you need to know about the Punch EV facelift.

The Punch EV facelift now comes with larger battery pack options over the predecessor. The 25 kWh and 35 kWh battery packs now make way for a 30 kWh and 40 kWh unit. The 30 kWh battery promises a range of 355 km, while the 40 kWh battery offers a claimed range of 468 km (ARAI), with a real-world range (C75) range of 355 km. Meanwhile, the smaller 30 kWh battery pack offers 365 km (ARAI) on a single charge, translating up to 275 km (C75) in real-world range.
Tata Motors has enabled faster charging times and now supports up to 65 kW DC fast charging. This allows the Punch EV to charge from 20 to 80 per cent in 26 minutes. The battery can be topped up with 135 km of real-world range in 15 minutes.
Using a 3.3 kW AC charging, the Punch EV will take about 11.9 hours to charge from 10-100 per cent on the 30 kWh battery and 14.8 hours on the 40 kWh battery. Meanwhile, buyers opting for 7.2 kW AC charging will be able to charge the car from 10-100 per cent in 4.5 hours on the 30 kWh, and 5.3 hours for the 40 kWh battery pack.

The Punch EV joins other Tata EVs and comes with lifetime battery warranty covering unlimited kilometres. However, this is only applicable on the larger 40 kWh battery pack. The warranty offers coverage on the most critical EV components but is only available for first-time owners of the car. The 30 kWh battery pack comes with eight years of standard warranty, which is extendable up to two years.

Other features on the Tata Punch EV facelift include paddle shifters for the four levels of regenerative braking. There are three driving modes - Eco, City, and Sport (only on 40 kWh battery pack).

Power on the Punch EV comes from a single motor paired with the front wheels. The 30 kWh option produces 87 bhp, while the 40 kWh option churns out 127 bhp. Peak torque remains the same on both versions at 153.8 Nm. 0-100 kmph comes up quickly in under 9 seconds on the 40 kWh version, while the 30 kWh version takes 13.5 seconds.
The feature list is extensive on the Punch EV facelift. It packs leatherette upholstered seats, ventilated front seats, an air purifier, cooled glovebox, wireless charging, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10-inch digital driver’s display, 200+ voice commands in six languages, an electric sunroof, and Alexa & Siri integration. There’s also a 360-degree camera, an air purifier, an electronic parking brake (only on 40 kWh), intelligent high beam, and iRA connected car technology.

Tata says the Punch EV facelift comes with over 60 safety features. It gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, Hill Ascent and Descent Control, ISOFIX anchorages, TPMS, LED fog lamp with cornering function, seatbelt reminder for all occupants, and more.

The 2026 Tata Punch EV gets a nip and tuck when it comes to styling. The front bumper has been revamped for a clutter-free appearance, while the rear sports new and sharper-looking taillights that are connected via a lightbar in the middle. The profile remains the same and the alloy wheels have been carried over as well. There are new colour options available - Caramel, Bengal Rouge, and Fearless Yellow.

The new Tata Punch EV is priced from ₹9.69 lakh for the base trim, going up to ₹12.59 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). However, the battery as a service programme drops the asking price to ₹6.49 lakh along with a battery EMI of ₹2.6 per km. This makes the model substantially more affordable to own, making it cheaper than the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV as well.
