The upcoming Sierra EV is most likely to be slotted in between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV in Tata’s fully-electric lineup.
The new-gen Tata Sierra had generated tremendous buzz ahead of its launch in November 2025. The mid-size SUV received an overwhelming response with 70,000 bookings accumulated within 24 hours of its bookings. It was recently revealed that bookings for the Sierra have gone past 1 lakh and the waiting period for the SUV has extended to around 6-7 months.
It has now come to light that the all-electric version of the Sierra is likely to launch in the second quarter of FY2026-27. This was revealed in Tata Motors’ recent earnings call for 2025. The homegrown carmaker had confirmed that the new-gen Sierra will be available in both ICE and EV derivatives when its pre-production concept was showcased at Auto Expo 2025.
The Sierra EV will be the second Tata.ev model to launch this year after the facelifted Punch EV gets launched on February 20. The detailed specifications and features of the Tata Sierra EV are still under the wraps. Design-wise, the Sierra.ev will largely remain similar to its combustion-fueled sibling. The battery-powered Sierra is expected to feature several EV-specific design and functional enhancements, both externally and internally.

These may include a closed-off front grille, revised bumper designs, updated software interfaces, and other electric vehicle-focused elements. The Sierra EV is anticipated to share its powertrain options with the Harrier EV, which is currently offered with 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs. In the Harrier EV, the 65kWh variant delivers a claimed range of 538 km per charge, along with output figures of 235 bhp and 315 Nm of peak torque.
The larger 75 kWh battery pack produces 390 bhp and 504 Nm of peak torque. Additionally, the Sierra EV may be offered with an optional dual-motor configuration or an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. Upon launch, the Tata Sierra EV is expected to lock horns with the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, and the upcoming Maruti e Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella.
