The Tata Sierra EV is expected to look nearly identical to its ICE siblings, but expect more features and the option of all-wheel drive (AWD).
Tata Motors is all set to introduce the highly anticipated Sierra EV on June 30, 2026. The electric SUV has been in the works since it was first showcased in 2023, and will join the petrol and diesel versions of the Sierra currently on sale. The Tata Sierra EV is expected to be nearly identical to its ICE siblings, but expect more features and the option of all-wheel drive (AWD), setting this eSUV apart.
Tata has been tightlipped about the specifications on the upcoming Sierra EV. However, the company has shared that the new offering will be based on the acti.ev+ architecture shared with the Harrier EV. This could allow the Indian carmaker to offer 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery options, with power going to the rear wheels on the lower trims, and to all four wheels on the higher trims. Going by the Harrier EV, expect the Sierra EV to get the Quad Wheel Drive (QWD) nomenclature.
Compared to the ICE version, the Tata Sierra EV will remain largely identical on the styling front but will get a closed-off grille with a body-coloured finish, a redesigned bumper, and new aero-optimised alloy wheels. The rear profile should remain identical with changes largely to the bumper.
Inside, Tata is expected to add a few features to bring more value to the Sierra EV. The SUV will get a triple-screen setup comprising a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a 12.3-inch passenger screen. The lower trims will get the dual screens and a head-up display (HUD). The feature list will also include electrically adjustable front seats with ventilation, multiple drive modes, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, ADAS, leatherette upholstery, and more.
The Tata Sierra EV will be positioned between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV in the automaker’s lineup, and expect prices to be between ₹18 lakh and ₹26 lakh (ex-showroom). This segment certainly has a lot of heat with rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Toyota UC eBella, Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, and more.
More details on the pricing and availability of the Sierra EV will be available at its debut on June 30. Make sure to watch this space for all the action.
