Tesla Model S, Model X Updated Yet Again

Tesla has revealed yet another facelift for the Model S and Model X electric vehicles. Both models get a new colour, improved cabin insulation, new wheels and new features. The Model S was first introduced in 2012, and this is its fourth upgrade since. This is the second time the Model X has had an upgrade since its introduction in 2015. 

The exterior design of the Tesla Model S and Model X hasn’t changed much. They both look very similar to the cars they replace. However, Tesla has given the Model S and Model X new alloy wheels, which help partly in increasing the range. Another factor helping with this is the improved aerodynamics that the Model S and X get. The longest-range Tesla, the Model S Long Range, can run about 660 km before running out of juice in the battery. Both the cars get a new Frost Blue colour too. 

Tesla said it has also improved the bushings and suspension design, which should help increase the ride comfort and make it seem smoother. The Model S Plaid, the high-performance version, has a new, aggressive body kit which Tesla claims improves high-speed stability. While the Model X Plaid’s top speed is 240 kmph, the Model S Plaid’s top speed is 322 kmph. 

Both cars also get a new ambient lighting system, which also gets unique animations on the dash and doors upon entering the car. Both cars also get adaptive high beam assist as well as a new front camera for better visibility. Tesla claims the Model X has more space for 3rd row occupants as well as cargo space. The Yoke on the Plaid models is still an optional extra. 

While Tesla is coming to India, it remains to be seen which model will be the first to reach India. There have been multiple sightings of the Model 3 and Model Y, indicating they will be the first models in India. The Model S and Model X will eventually make their way to India, if all goes well.
