While Tesla is opening its first showroom in India today, its website has already listed the prices for the Model Y. Prices start at ₹59.89 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the rear-wheel drive (RWD) variant, while the long-range RWD variant is priced at ₹67.89 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Since Tesla hasn’t officially announced the prices, take these with a pinch of salt as they could be placeholders for the website.
The Model Y is available in six colour options. Interestingly, the Stealth Grey is available as standard on the Model Y, while the other colours command a premium. The Pearl White Multi-Coat and Diamond Black are priced at ₹95,000. The Glacier Blue, Quicksilver and Ultra Red are priced at ₹1.25 lakh. The Model Y comes with an all-black interior as standard, but if you want the black and white interior, you’d have to pay ₹95,000 more.
Interestingly, the Model Y is listed with Full-Self Driving (FSD) capability, which is an optional extra that costs ₹6 lakh. It doesn’t come with the feature just yet, but has been listed as a feature that will come with a future update. Notably, in the USA, FSD is listed as FSD (Supervised), but that doesn’t seem to be the case in India.
Upon placing an order, you’d have to pay ₹22,220 to book your Model Y, but it is a non-refundable deposit. It can also be paid through UPI. Once booked, you’d have to shell out ₹3 lakh to secure your order.
The India-spec Model Y is available in two variants – RWD and Long Range RWD. The former has a claimed range of 500 km (WLTP), while the latter has a claimed range of 622 km (WLTP). Deliveries are estimated to begin around the third quarter of 2025, i.e., between July and September.
