Tesla Opens First In-Mall EV Charging Hub in North India

Tesla on Monday opened its first destination charging station on north India with an in-mall electric vehicle charging facility at Nexus Select Citywalk in New Delhi. Located in the P1 parking area of the shopping centre, the new site is equipped with six 11 kW AC Destination Chargers. The electric vehicle maker said the facility is designed to offer Tesla owners a convenient charging option while shopping or dining and is expected to deliver 99.95 per cent uptime.

Alongside the charging facility, Tesla has opened a pop-up store on the ground floor of Nexus Select Citywalk. The temporary retail space will operate from July 6-July 10 between 11 am and 9 pm. Visitors will be able to explore the newly introduced Model Y L and the 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive through guided product demonstrations, test drives and interactive experiences.

New Model Y Variants on Display

The Tesla Model Y L is an all-wheel-drive electric SUV with a three-row, six-seat configuration. It offers a WLTP-certified driving range of up to 681 km and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds. The model is priced from ₹61.99 lakh, with finance options starting at an EMI of ₹49,990 and a minimum down payment of ₹6.5 lakh.

Tesla is also showcasing the 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive, a new variant of the Model Y. 

The vehicle seats up to five occupants, offers up to 2,138 litres of cargo space and has a WLTP-certified range of up to 500 km. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. Prices start at ₹50.89 lakh, with finance options beginning at an EMI of ₹39,990 and a minimum down payment of ₹6.5 lakh.

The company said both the Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive and the Model Y L have received top safety ratings from several global safety assessment agencies, including NHTSA and IIHS in the United States, Euro NCAP in Europe, ANCAP in Australia and New Zealand, and C-IASI in China.

Both models are available to order through Tesla's official website. The company also said home charging support is available across all Indian states.

Charging Footprint to Grow

With the new Delhi facility, Tesla now operates six charging stations across India, comprising 20 Superchargers and 20 Destination Chargers, as it continues to strengthen its charging network to support the growing number of Tesla owners in the country.
