Consumers must pay a non-refundable booking amount of ₹22,222, followed by an additional ₹3 lakh within seven days to confirm their order. Tesla’s online configurator allows buyers to choose between two variants: Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and Long Range RWD, both of which are imported as Completely Built Units (CBUs).
The RWD variant is priced at ₹59.89 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Long Range RWD comes in at ₹67.89 lakh. These prices do not include state-specific charges like insurance, registration, and road tax. For example, the on-road price in Karnataka may reach up to ₹67 lakh, while it is slightly lower in EV-friendly states like Kerala.

Tesla plans to begin deliveries in phases. The RWD variant will be delivered starting Q3 2025, while the Long Range RWD will follow in Q4. Deliveries will first roll out in Mumbai, Delhi, Gurugram, and Pune, before expanding to other metro cities.
The India specification Model Y offers a WLTP-certified range of around 500 km for the RWD and 622 km for the Long Range RWD configurations. The key features include the 15.4-inch touchscreen, 8-inch rear display, ambient lighting, powered tailgate, acoustic glass, and a full package option of Full Self-Driving (FSD) for ₹6 lakh, though the FSD features will only come into effect once the Indian regulations are in place.
Tesla is bypassing traditional dealerships with an entirely digital sales model. All configurations, payments, and paperwork are handled online, and vehicles will be delivered directly to the customer’s home.

High import duties, up to 100% for CBUs, significantly increase the price of Tesla vehicles in India. Although the company has previously indicated interest in setting up local manufacturing, current offerings are still being imported, making them less accessible for the average Indian buyer.
