Tech billionaire Elon Musk-owned Tesla has commenced operations of its autonomous ride-hailing platform in the US state of Austin, Texas, marking a key milestone in the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer's expansion into driverless transportation, reported Teslarati.

Notably, the ride-hailing service operates within a restricted geographic zone in South Austin, with journey times spanning approximately 30 minutes from one boundary to the other.
