The biggest challenge that Ola Electric is embarking upon is the Diamondhead electric sports motorcycle. While not much specs of the bike were shared, Ola hopes to go from pre-production prototype stage to an actual production bike by 2027. And the target price: ₹5 lakh! Just to put things into perspective, that would be like offering Ducati Panigale V4-level of performance at a lakh more than the Aprilia RS457.
The Diamondhead continues to look radical and striking as its concept. However, there are a few more interesting details shared. Firstly, the aim is to achieve 0-100 kmph in 2 seconds. That is supercar territory. Ola states that it will use lightweight materials like spacegrade aluminium, carbonfibre and magnesium for building the Diamondhead.

While bits like active aerodynamics and adaptive suspension have been on motorcycles for a while now, the Diamondhead will also get active ergonomics. The aim is to offer something that will help the rider stay in better control over the bike’s operations by either moving the bars or the pegs during the journey.
The Diamondhead will obviously have a smattering of safety aids like ADAS, traction control and AI-integration. But again the experience is likely to be enhanced by Ola developing a ‘Smart AR’ helmet and smart wearables that will form a neat eco-system with the bike.
This is certainly going to be a big task for Ola to achieve and bring to fruition. The target time is challenging and so is the pricing strategy. We’ll wait until 2027 for a more realistic picture.
