Toyota Glanza Now Gets Six Airbags As Standard; Prestige Package Introduced

Toyota is now offering 6 airbags on the Glanza as standard. Interestingly, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, on which the Glanza is based, still doesn’t come with six airbags as standard. Hopefully, the move will happen soon. Additionally, Toyota is offering the Prestige Package on the Glanza for a limited period, which includes a few cosmetic updates. 

The Toyota Glanza earlier had six airbags on the top-spec G and V trims, but it now also gets them on the entry-level E and S trims. Other standard safety features on the Glanza include ABS with EBD, stability control, hill hold control, 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats and ISOFIX. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno got 4 stars at Bharat NCAP for both two- and six-airbag variants. It could apply to the Glanza as well, but we’ll wait for Bharat NCAP to release the results for the Toyota hatchback. 

The Prestige Package on the Glanza is available till the end of the month, i.e. July 31. It gets cosmetic enhancements like door visors, body side mouldings, rear lamp garnish, chrome accents on the ORVMs and fenders, rear skid plate, illuminated door sills and a grille garnish. The package focuses only on the exterior cosmetic enhancements and brings no changes to the interior. 

The Glanza is priced between ₹6.90 - 10 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz. The Glanza is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine and also comes with a factory-fitted CNG kit. Both powertrain options come with the option of a 5-speed manual and the petrol also gets a 5-speed AMT as an option.
