Toyota Rumion Now Available With Six Airbags As Standard

The Rumion was the only vehicle remaining in Toyota India’s portfolio that did not have six airbags. However, that’s now changed as the smallest MPV in Toyota’s portfolio comes with six airbags as standard. The top-spec Rumion also gets a new convenience feature. 

Earlier, the Rumion wasn’t available with six airbags even on the top variant, as it only came with four – two front-mounted airbags and two seat-mounted airbags. Now, all trims will come with the aforementioned airbags in addition to two curtain airbags. In addition to the new safety feature, the top-spec Rumion V trim also comes with a tyre-pressure monitoring system. 

The Rumion is only available with a 7-seat configuration, much like its badge-engineered sibling, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. It also comes with a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Arkamys-tuned audio system and more. Powering the Rumion is a 1.5-litre petrol engine with 102 bhp and 136.8 Nm, mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. It also gets a factory-fitted CNG kit, and the engine churns out 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm in CNG mode. 

Rivals for the Rumion include the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki XL6 and Kia Carens Clavis.
