The Tracker 400 is the latest addition to its modern classic range in the Indian market.

Apart from introducing the new Triumph 350 cc range for the Indian market, the iconic British brand also introduced a new model today. Triumph Motorcycles has just pulled the wraps off the all-new Triumph Tracker 400, priced at ₹2,46,225 (ex-showroom Delhi). The Triumph Tracker 400 isn’t a proper scrambler but more of a retro roadster that has a visual element of an off-road machine and is inspired from flat track racing motorcycles.

The round LED headlight has been carried forward but it now features a small cowl above it. The fuel tank shape is different and the graphics are more bold to give it a boxy look with knee cut-outs and a tank pad. It features a flat bench seat with a seat cowl and the number board-style centre panel complete the flat tracker styling. Even the tail section is more boxy compared to that of the Speed 400 and it gets the twin mufflers as seen on the Scrambler 400.

The handle bars are flat and wide, while the footpegs too have been repositioned and lowered for a slightly more sporty riding stance. The new Triumph Tracker 400 is available in three shades - Racing Yellow, Phantom Black and Aluminium Silver Gloss. Talking about features, it gets the same semi-digital instrument cluster as seen on other Triumph bikes with dual-channel ABS and switchable traction control.

Power comes from the new TR-Series 350 cc motor producing 39.50 bhp at 8,750 rpm and 32 Nm at 7,500 rpm. It gets a 6-speed transmission with slipper clutch. The Tracker 400 runs 43 mm USD big piston forks up front and a preload-adjustable rear gas monoshock, both offering 140mm of travel. Braking is handled by four-piston radial calipers and the seat height too is accessible at 805 mm, while it tips the scale at 181 kg. While there isn’t any direct competitor for the new Triumph Tracker 400, the closest rival with respect to its positioning is the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Apex, prices for which starts at ₹2.49 lakh (ex-showroom and introductory).
