Triumph Thruxton 400 Spotted Ahead Of Launch Next Month

The upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 was recently spotted being tested in Pune. Reports state that the bike was spotted during a TVC shoot, which explains the fact that it had no camouflage or whatsoever. The fifth 400 cc bike from Triumph is slated to hit the markets next month, and it is likely to be positioned as the most premium option in that range. Therefore, the upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 can be priced somewhere between ₹3-3.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

The biggest highlight of the Triumph Thruxton 400 will be that retro-racer styled semi-fairing design, which is inspired from Triumph’s flagship Thruxton range. The fairing design is complemented by sporty bar-end mirrors, while the rear seat spotted here gets a cowl, thus indicating that the Thruxton 400 might be offered as a single seat variant. Due to which, the tail section looks slightly different and it doesn’t have the sleek, minimal finish as is the case with the Speed and Scrambler 400 bikes. 

Powering the Thruxton 400 will be the same 399 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm in the Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X and XC. Will Triumph retain the same output figures or not remains to be seen. However, we do expect Triumph to change the final drive ratio of the Thruxton 400 to suit its cafe racer character.

Beyond that, the rest of the features should more or less remain the same as the other Triumph 400 cc bikes. Thereby, expect to find the same semi-digital instrument console onboard without any Bluetooth connectivity whatsoever. However, being a premium bike, we expect Triumph to throw in some lucrative dual-tone shades on the Thruxton 400, like the Red-Silver option spotted here.
