The Tracker 400 borrows most of its elements from its Triumph 400 peers yet remains distinct in its styling and ergonomics.
Triumph Motorcycles expanded its 400 cc range with a brand new model. Currently offering three models in the 400 cc lineup (four if you include the Speed T4), the next bike in this series will be the Tracker 400. The iconic British bikemaker has announced the launch of the all-new Tracker 400, along with the Thruxton 400, in its home market.
This doesn’t come as a surprise since Acko Drive had exclusively reported about this development back in August this year. Priced at £5,745 (approx. ₹7.02 lakh), the Triumph Tracker 400 will be available in dealerships across the United Kingdom from April 2026 onwards.
For those unfamiliar, tracker motorcycles may resemble roadsters at first glance, but they typically feature a slightly lower seat height and a shorter wheelbase, which lends them a sportier feel. At the same time, the riding ergonomics are relatively relaxed—though not as laid-back as a cruiser. In essence, a tracker blends elements of a roadster and a scrambler, combining retro styling with a rugged character.

The same bike was spotted testing in Europe suggesting that it has been developed keeping riders of certain countries in mind, even though it will be manufactured in India by Bajaj Auto, like the rest of the 400 cc Triumphs.
At first glance, the Triumph Tracker 400 looks much more rugged than the standard Speed 400, yet not as off-road focused as the Scrambler 400 X. Even the fuel tank shape and size with knee recesses, seems to be carried over from the Scrambler 400 X. One distinct highlight, however, is the flat bench-style seat with a cowl, unlike the other two bikes mentioned above. The wider handlebars on the Tracker are set 23 mm broader and 134 mm lower than those on the Speed 400.
The tracker-style side panels, number board, flyscreen, and minimal bodywork further lend the Tracker its distinct identity. That said, the classic round LED headlight and a flowing twin-pipe muffler aren’t new to the Triumph’s 400 cc range. In the UK, Triumph will be offering the Tracker 400 in three colour options namely Racing Yellow, Phantom Black and Aluminium Silver Gloss.
Based on the same tubular steel perimeter frame as the rest of the Triumph 400 range, the underpinnings largely shared with the Speed 400. The frame is suspended on an upside-down fork and a gas-charged rear monoshock. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, aided by dual-channel ABS. The Tracker 400 rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in road-biased semi-knobby Pirelli MT60 RS tyres.

Powering the Triumph Tracker 400 is the same 398 cc TR Series single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, however, it gets the higher state of tune as seen on the Thruxton 400. This unit kicks out 41.5 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox along with a slip-and-assist clutch. On the features front, the Tracker 400 comes equipped with full-LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument console, ride-by-wire throttle, traction control, and standard dual-channel ABS.
Even though the Tracker 400 will most likely be manufactured in India, Triumph hasn’t said anything about its launch in our country yet. Tracker motorcycles are a niche segment and usually find few buyers even in more accomplished markets. Therefore, market viability will be considered before launching this product. Moreover, Bajaj will have a big say if Triumph wants to introduce the Tracker 400 in India sometime in the future.
