Truecaller users can now create digital replicas of their own voices with the new AI Assistant feature
Truecaller has announced a new collaboration with Microsoft, allowing integration with Microsoft's personal voice technology, Azure AI Speech. Truecaller users can now create digital replicas of their own voices to power interactions with the app's AI Assistant. Truecaller and Microsoft believe this new capability will significantly improve how users manage calls and messages.
The new AI Assistant feature allows individuals to record short voice samples that are then used to train AI models. Microsoft's Azure AI Speech synthesizes these recordings to generate lifelike digital representations of a person's voice.
Through the new integration, Truecaller Assistant users can set up personalized voice profiles within the app. When calls come in, the AI greets callers using the user's voice instead of generic text-to-speech. Truecaller believes this provides a more authentic experience that more closely mimics human interaction.
The feature will initially launch in the US, Canada, Australia, India, and other select markets, with a broader rollout planned for the future.
To set up Personal Voice on the Truecaller app, users need to follow a simple process:
Ensure the latest version of the Truecaller app is installed.
Subscribe to Truecaller Premium.
Navigate to the Assistant settings in the app.
Follow the instructions to record and set up their voice.
