In its standard form, the TVS Ronin is priced between ₹ 1.27 lakh and ₹ 1.60 lakh (both ex-showroom).

TVS has filed patent applications for a new cafe racer variant of the Ronin. The only lifestyle offering by the Hosur-based bikemaker, the Ronin has seen lukewarm response ever since it was launched in mid-2022. That said, the Ronin is seeing some sort of a resurgence with 8,175 units and 8,247 units sold in January and February 2026, recording YoY growths of 113 percent and 127 percent.

The company has already proven with several custom modified versions that the Ronin platform is very versatile. In the last two editions of MotoSoul, TVS had showcased multiple interesting concepts of the Ronin and a cafe racer was one of them. The patent for this version was recently accepted by the Controller General Office of Patents, Designs & Trademarks.

TVS Ronin Cafe Racer: Design Patents

As seen in the patent highlights, one of the key highlights is the swept-back visor that seamlessly integrates the headlamp. Beyond improving wind protection, it may also help shield the headlamp from flying debris. We expect sportier graphics and a more aggressive visual presence for the Ronin Cafe Racer. The bike features low-set clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs, resulting in a more committed, forward-leaning riding posture.

Another notable element is the quarter fairing, which adds to the motorcycle’s retro-inspired character. Its proportions feel well balanced, while the curvy design lends a sense of motion even when the bike is stationary. The Ronin Cafe Racer also gets an upswept, stubby exhaust, setting it apart from the unit seen on the standard model.

The bike is equipped with a slim, single-piece seat in typical cafe racer style, complete with an integrated rear cowl. On the production version, this cowl is expected to feature track-style numbering. It also rides on race-oriented tyres, which could offer a more engaging experience for enthusiasts. Notably, the patents reveal a custom-built factory version of the Ronin that gets a retro-style whitewall tyres, further enhancing its classic appeal.

TVS Ronin Cafe Racer: Launch on cards?

There’s no official word from TVS though if it plans to take this design into production in the near future. TVS has been tight lipped about the special Ronin concepts with no clear indication on market launch for any of the models. That said, TVS had previously launched the Agonda Edition of Ronin at a price of ₹1.31 lakh (ex-showroom) in December 2025. Meanwhile, this cafe racer variant could be the next special edition model of the Ronin which could go on sale in limited quantities.

Mechanically, the TVS Ronin Cafe Racer will most likely remain unchanged. Powering the Ronin Cafe Racer will be a 226 cc single cylinder, SOHC, oil cooled engine that pushes out 20.2 bhp and 19.93 Nm of  peak torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission and aided by an assist and slipper clutch.

As for hardware, the Ronin rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends and is equipped with a 300 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc. The base variant gets single-channel ABS, while the mid and top trims are offered with dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle is built on a double cradle frame, paired with a 41 mm upside-down front fork and a rear monoshock with 7-step adjustable preload. It also features selectable ABS modes, namely Rain and Urban.
