The new base-spec variant of the TVS Raider 125 is available with just two colour options.
Keeping up with the momentum brewing with the upcoming festive season, TVS has silently launched a new entry-level variant of the Raider 125 with drum brakes. Priced at ₹84,469, it costs ₹11,000 less than the single-seat variant of the TVS Raider 125 it is based upon. And just like the latter, the new variant continues with just two colours—striking Red and Wicked Black.
Besides the absence of a disc brake, the new TVS Raider 125 drum brake variant continues with the same design and appearance cues as the other variants. Except for the single-seat that it shares with the second base variant, the new drum variant also gets all-LED lighting and an LCD cluster with different ride modes.
Mechanically, the TVS Raider 125 Drum variant continues to be powered by the same 124.5 cc, air-cooled mill that churns out 11.12 bhp and 11.2 Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Similarly, suspension components have also remained the same telescopic front fork and monoshock.
The addition of this new variant is quite a welcome move from TVS, especially given how the 125 cc segment has expanded to accommodate several new and exciting products. Like the new Hero Xtreme 125R, which raked up sales of 14,326 units last month, i.e. August, 2024. While that is nowhere close to the 37,249 Raider 125s that TVS sold in the same period. However, Hero is catching up quite nicely in a segment which is otherwise dominated by the Honda Shine 125 with 1,29,907 unit sales. With an affordable price tag, and with several first-in-segment features, the new Raider 125 Drum variant will surely further TVS’ sales in the upcoming month.
