Bookings for the TVS X are open from tonight and deliveries will commence from November 2023.
TVS Motor Company has finally unveiled the X electric scooter in Dubai. TVS’ started its EV journey with the iQube which was launched in 2020. The TVS iQube is among the highest selling electric scooters in the Indian market. As reported earlier, the TVS X draws heavy design inspiration from the Creon concept first showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. TVS announced that bookings for the X electric scooter are open from tonight and deliveries will commence from November 2023. The TVS X has been priced at Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
The TVS X is based on a new Xleton frame crafted of aluminum alloy. TVS claims the best aerodynamic efficiency and has ram air cooling technology. Furthermore, the TVS X features a X-Tilt instrument console that swivels, a segment first feature. The X features a 10.2 inch TFT screen. You can also watch a reel on the screen and also customise the theme of the screen.
In terms of performance, the TVS X is capable of doing 0 to 40 kmph in 2.5 seconds and can reach a claimed top speed of 105 kmph. The battery pack on the TVS’ latest electric scooter is a 4.4 kWh unit. TVS claims a charging time of 0 to 50 per cent in under 1 hour with fast charging. The TVS X comes with three riding modes, the most powerful of which is the ‘Xonic’ mode.
The X is also offered with single-channel ABS and cruise control. The TVS X also features an offset monoshock suspension and auto hold function as well. Moreover, the X electric scooter comes with a selective regenerative braking and speed system to further enhance its appeal to customers. The X comes with a 220 mm disc at the front and 195 mm one at the rear. Seat height sits at a comfortable 770 mm and ground clearance of 175 mm.
TVS Motor Company has also confirmed that exports for the X electric scooter will begin from the next financial year. The first sale of the TVS X will begin in November 2023 and the homegrown two-wheeler manufacturer hopes to reach around 15 cities by March 2024. Given the 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom) price, the TVS X is the most expensive electric scooter on sale in India.
