Ultraviolette Automotive is setting its sights on global expansion with the launch of their F77 Mach 2 electric bike. After introducing the F77 in 2022, Ultraviolette is targeting the Middle East, Brazil, and parts of Europe in 2024, alongside strengthening their presence in India.

The F77 Mach 2 has an impressive 323 km claimed range on a single charge. It is powered by a 30kW motor. Bigger battery capacity of 10.3 kWh also has faster charging times. The F77 Mach 2 is compatible with various charging options, including a standard charger, a boost charger, and the Ultraviolette Supernova charger. Using the standard charger, riders can expect to charge the battery from 20% to 80% in around 5 hours. The boost charger cuts that time down to 2.5 hours, while the Ultraviolette Supernova charger can achieve the same charge in a mere 60 minutes. Ultraviolette  anticipates strong demand, aiming for close to 100,000 bookings worldwide.

India Focus Alongside Global Expansion

While venturing into international markets, Ultraviolette isn't neglecting their home turf. The company plans to expand its India network to nearly 20 locations, starting with their first company-owned store in Bangalore. This focus on domestic growth comes despite lower initial sales figures in FY24.

The Indian electric motorcycle market is still in its nascent stages, with total industry sales falling below 10,000 units. In comparison, the popularity of the 250-300cc ICE motorcycle segment can be seen as it sells nearly a million units annually in India. However, the future looks bright with expected players like Ola Electric and Ather Energy alongside new entrants like Orxa Mantis and Raptee. Ultraviolette faces competition from Ahmedabad-based Matter, Jaipur-based Hop Electric, and Bangalore-based Oben Rorr, all vying for a share of the growing electric motorcycle market.

Backed by TVS Motor Company, Zoho Corporation, and actor Dulquer Salmaan, Ultraviolette is expected to incorporate cutting-edge technology in their upcoming products for India. The F77 Mach 2 has segment-first features like dynamic stability control. Along with this it has usual features like regenerative braking, and telemetric data loggers which work along with Violette AI. The company has also extended its battery warranty, offering an optional 8 lakh km global warranty for enhanced reliability on the brand.
