Ultraviolette Automotive has announced the launch of a limited-edition variant called the F77 Space Edition. The Ultraviolette F77 Space Edition is limited to just 10 units, and is a tribute to the Chandrayaan-3 lunar exploration mission. The company calls it ‘is a fusion of cutting-edge technology and aerospace-inspired design.’

The standard F77 electric motorcycle costs Rs 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom), but the exclusive aerospace-inspired F77 Space Edition is priced at Rs 5.60 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Ultraviolette will open online bookings for the F77 Space Edition at 6 pm on August 22, 2023. The reason for the significant difference in price is because of all the extra kit the Space Edition gets over the standard version.

The Ultraviolette F77 Space Edition gets custom machined aerospace grade-aluminium. Aluminum 7075 is a high strength alloy used in these components has an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and a tensile strength comparable to that of many steels while being significantly lighter. Owing to this, it is often employed in parts like aircraft structures, defence systems and various applications, especially in aerospace and military industries.

Furthermore, the F77 Space Edition gets aerospace-grade paint which is said to guarantee exceptional corrosion protection, UV and fade resistance, chemical resistance, and thermal stability. In addition, the paint helps in enhancing the overall performance, contributing to efficiency by reducing drag. Even the key is claimed to be made from aerospace-grade aluminium and is crafted out a single piece of metal.

Announcing the launch of the Ultraviolette F77 Space Edition, Narayan Subramaniam, Co-Founder and CEO, Ultraviolette Automotive said, “We are excited to bring to you our latest creation – the F77 Space Edition and can’t wait to hand over the keys to 10 special riders. Ultraviolette aims to constantly push the boundaries of science and technology and the Space Edition is the best way to celebrate this commitment. As the aerospace industry is where the pinnacles of technology are achieved, the F77 Space Edition proudly commemorates India’s celestial journey.”

Adding to this, Niraj Rajmohan, Co-Founder and CTO, Ultraviolette Automotive said, “We've meticulously crafted the Ultraviolette F77 Space Edition to deliver an unparalleled riding and ownership experience. Our focus lies on translating technological excellence into tangible excitement. As we move forward, our commitment remains unwavering: to accelerate innovation. The Ultraviolette F77 Space Edition clearly reflects this commitment, delivering not only a highly differentiated experience but also showcasing the potential of electric vehicles in redefining the future of transportation.”

That’s not all, the Ultraviolette F77 Space Edition is also equipped with aircraft electronics-based technology and interfaces like multiple fail proof systems for the battery and a system that is capable of measuring roll, pitch and yaw through a 9-axis IMU. Apart from this, the paint job and graphics are all-new, as well.

The powertrain on the F77 Space Edition produces slightly more power than the F77 Original and Recon variants. The Space Edition churns out a peak power 30.2 kW and a peak torque of 100 Nm. The electric motorcycle is capable of doing 60 kmph in a claimed 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 152 kmph. The claimed IDC range stands at 307 km on a single charge.
