Ather Energy has finally confirmed the name of its upcoming electric scooter, ahead of its debut at Ather Community Day on August 29, 2026. The new affordable electric scooter will be called the ‘Ather Konarc’ and will be based on the EL01 platform showcased last year. The new Ather Konarc is expected to be the brand’s most accessible offering, priced around the ₹1 lakh mark.

The name ‘Konarc’ appears to draw inspiration from the Konark Temple in Odisha, dedicated to the Sun God - Surya. The teaser gives little information about the electric scooter but reveals key details. The model appears to get conventional telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking will come from a front disc brake, all-LED lighting with a signature LED DRL running across the width of the apron.

Ather has kept the specifications under wraps but the Konarc is expected to arrive with multiple battery pack options. The company previously disclosed that the EL01 platform will be able to handle batter sizes ranging between 2 kWh and 5 kWh. The e-scooter is expected to get a PMS motor, offering decent performance.
The Ather Konarc is expected to be feature loaded as Ather models tend to be. Expect to see a touchscreen display with turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity with calls and SMS alerts, and a host of connected tech features. The new features like Pothole+ Alert, released recently on the 450X and Rizta model, is also likely to make it to the Konarc. The other features we expect to see include hill hold, reverse mode, crash detection, voice commands, traction control, and more.
The upcoming Ather Konarc will be priced around ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the variant and battery pack. The company could also keep a few features behind feature packs, which would need to be purchased separately. In terms of competition, the Konarc will take on the Chetak C25 series, Vida VX2, TVS Orbiter, and the like.
