Verge Motorcycles partners with Donut Lab for the first production solid-state battery in TS Pro, offering up to 595 km range and 10-minute fast charging at CES 2026.
Verge Motorcycles has announced an updated version of the TS Pro at CES 2026. The production-ready motorcycle will be the world’s first to be equipped with all-solid-state battery technology when it hits select global markets in the coming months.
Verge claims that it’s skipping the concept phase and putting the updated TS Pro straight into production. This could position Verge ahead of mainstream manufacturers pursuing solid-state tech. The Finnish company, recognised for its distinctive hubless in-wheel motor design, has partnered with Donut Lab to develop this battery advancement.
The new solid-state battery offers an energy density of 400 Wh/kg, achieved by replacing traditional liquid or gel electrolytes. This enables a maximum range of up to 595 km with an optional extended-range pack. Fast charging allows addition of approximately 300 km of range in about 10 minutes.
The system pairs with Donut Lab's latest in-wheel motor, which is 50% lighter than previous versions while maintaining 1,000 Nm of torque, resulting in 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.5 seconds.
Donut Lab states that the battery shows minimal degradation, supports up to 100,000 cycles, and is suitable for various applications beyond motorcycles, including drones and military vehicles.
Solid-state battery breakthroughs are announced quite often nowadays, but they usually remain confined to prototypes or distant production timelines. For a small motorcycle start-up like Verge to claim commercial deployment is therefore quite surprising.
