Vespa has revealed the limited-edition Edizione Ottantesimo to celebrate its 80th anniversary, restricting global production to just 1,946 individually numbered units.
Celebrating its landmark 80th anniversary, the iconic Italian scooter brand Vespa has officially taken the wraps off a highly exclusive, collector’s special edition model named the Edizione Ottantesimo. Unveiled during anniversary festivities at the Foro Italico in Rome, the premium scooter is based on the brand's newly upgraded flagship GTS 310 technical platform.
To honour the legendary manufacturer’s heritage, global production will be strictly capped at a numbered run of just 1,946 units, a number chosen to commemorate the exact year Vespa was founded. The scooter is limited only to the European market.
To complement the purchase of this celebratory machine, each owner will receive a dedicated, colour-matched open-face riding helmet finished in matching matte grey with green graphics and an ‘80’ logo on the rear section. The limited-edition bundle also includes an exclusive, high-end photographic coffee table history book published by Assouline, compiling the most iconic and significant historical images from the Piaggio corporate archives.
The Edizione Ottantesimo stands out through a distinct styling package that directly nods to the brand's post-war origins. The scooter features an exclusive material-grey and pastel Verde 80th (Green) livery inspired by the classic single-colour paint finishes of the original 1946 models. This historical theme is carried over to the matching green upholstery of the premium saddle and the solid wheel rims, which contemporary designers have re-engineered to mimic the stamped sheet-metal wheel aesthetics of the first-ever Vespa 98.

The vehicle is configured with a sleek single-seater layout, achieved via a removable, body-coloured rigid rear cowl that conceals the pillion section. Adding to its collector appeal, each individual unit features a dedicated, numbered commemorative plate mounted inside the under-seat storage area. On the exterior bodywork, satin-chrome accents are paired with a mix of matte and glossy finishes, completed by an '80' shield emblem and an official ‘80 years of Vespa Est. 1946’ logo badge.
Beneath its classic sheet metal contours, the special edition utilises Vespa's most powerful technical platform to date. The scooter is driven by a 310 cc single-cylinder engine which pumps out a peak power output of 25 bhp alongside 27 Nm of maximum torque.
In terms of digital features, the premium scooter comes factory-equipped with a crisp 5-inch full-colour TFT dashboard paired with the proprietary ‘Vespa MIA’ smartphone connectivity suite. This Bluetooth integration allows riders to manage incoming phone calls, control music playlists, and access simplified, pictogram-based navigation prompts right from the handlebar switches.
