Vida Electric Bike Concept To Debut EICMA 2025

With EICMA 2025 fast approaching, manufacturers have gone into overdrive mode to tease their new and upcoming products. The latest is Vida which teased a new electric motorcycle concept, a new direction for Hero MotoCorp’s EV brand. The new Vida electric bike could be called the Vida Ubex and it showcases a new direction for the brand. Electric motorcycles in general haven't been very popular in the Indian market as electric scooters have more than 90% market share in the Indian EV space. But with the country’s largest two-wheeler brand entering the segment, things might change as Hero is the king of commuters and motorcycles.

However, unlike a commuter electric bike, Vida is attempting to create a sporty electric motorcycle, something that will be an alternative to 150-200 cc bikes as seen in the silhouette. The styling of the bike is aggressive and we can spot a few Hero Xtreme design elements as well. Powertrain details are unknown but given its sporty intent, the motor and battery pack will be significantly more powerful than the unit seen on the Vida VX2. Currently the only bike in this segment is the Matter Aera 5000+ and in the premium end of the space is the Ultraviolette X47 Crossover and the F77 Mach 2. 

With Hero entering the electric motorcycle category, we hope to see a lot of action as Ather too has confirmed that it’s working on an electric motorcycle which might debut next year and Ola already has the Roadster and is also working on the Diamondhead. The positioning from Vida is interesting as the Ubex concept isn’t a commuter bike, a genre that its parent company, Hero MotoCorp excels.
