Ahead of its formal launch, Green SM has begun recruiting driver partners in India.
Vietnam's Vingroup is preparing to enter India's cab aggregation market through its electric ride-hailing arm, Green SM, also known internationally as GSM or Green and Smart Mobility. The service operates within the broader Vingroup ecosystem, which also includes electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast.
Ahead of its formal launch, Green SM has begun recruiting driver partners in India, rolling out social media advertisements across platforms, Autocar professional has reported. One campaign, branded around the tagline 'Driver Nahi, Partner Bano', promises potential monthly earnings of up to ₹40,000, along with insurance benefits and performance-linked incentives. The promotional visuals feature VinFast electric vehicles carrying Green SM branding and appear to be aimed at drivers in the National Capital Region, with Delhi landmarks and Hindi-language messaging prominently featured.
Green SM's entry comes at a notable moment for India's EV-only cab segment. BluSmart, one of the leading all-electric ride-hailing platforms in the country, suspended operations earlier this year, leaving a gap that newer entrants could look to fill. The development also puts Green SM in indirect competition with larger aggregators such as Uber and Ola in the urban electric mobility space.
The move signals what could be a broader mobility push by the Vingroup-VinFast ecosystem in India, extending beyond vehicle sales into fleet management and ride-sharing services. VinFast is already advancing its passenger vehicle ambitions in the country, with a manufacturing facility under development in Tamil Nadu and stated interest in fleet-based mobility opportunities.
