Vivo V40 series aim to improve upon the previous V30 series in key areas like cameras, performance, and features.
Vivo has officially launched its new V40 series of smartphones, consisting of the Vivo V40 and Vivo V40 Pro. The new phones aim to improve upon the previous V30 series (review) in key areas like cameras, performance, and features.
Both V40 models feature large 6.78-inch AMOLED displays with 120Hz refresh rates for buttery smooth scrolling and gameplay. The screens offer 1.5K (2800x1260 pixels) resolution and support HDR10+ playback.
Where the phones differ is under the hood. The V40 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset built on TSMC's 4nm process. Vivo claims this provides improved performance and best-in-class power efficiency.
The standard V40 opts for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, which is paired with 8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB storage, and a 12GB/256GB variant.
The V40 Pro has an impressive triple rear camera setup backed by Zeiss optics and a ring LED flash light. It includes a 50-megapixel primary, 50-megapixel ultra-wide, and 50-megapixel portrait telephoto lens. Vivo offers different portrait mode styles across different focal lengths. The V40 skips the telephoto lens, but both phones feature a 50MP selfie camera.
Other key specs include large 5500mAh batteries that support 80W wired charging speeds. Both phones are IP68 rated for water and dust resistance. The V40 series runs on Funtouch OS 14, which is based on Android 14 out of the box.
The Vivo V40 price starts at Rs 34,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, Rs 36,999 for 8GB+256GB storage and Rs 41,999 for the 12GB+512GB storage model.
The V40 Pro starts at Rs 49,999 for the base 8GB+256GB storage variant and Rs 55,999 for the 12GB+512GB variant.
The Vivo V40 Pro goes on sale on August 13, and the V40 will be available on August 19. Pre-booking for both starts today.
