VLF Mobster 135 Records 1,000 Bookings Within 48 Hours of Launch

The VLF Mobster 135 has raked in 1,000 bookings in its first 48 hours of launch, showing a strong interest in the premium scooter. Priced at an introductory ₹1.30 lakh (ex-showroom), the Mobster 135 is the most powerful scooter in the 125cc segment, competing well above traditional commuter alternatives.

The liquid-cooled 125 cc single-cylinder engine produces 12.1 bhp and 11.7 Nm, and is good enough to hit a top speed of 105 kmph (claimed). Italian designer Alessandro Tartarini created the Mobster 135's streetfighter-inspired appearance. The scooter features muscular body panels, twin projector headlamps and an aggressive stance that differs significantly from conventional designs. VLF aims to attract younger riders who prefer sporty aesthetics over conservative commuter styling.

Feature-wise, the VLF Mobster 135 is available with a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, keyless ignition, auto start-stop, LED lighting, and illuminated switches. On the safety front, it comes with dual-channel ABS as standard, which is switchable, and for the first time in this category, it is available with traction control. 

VLF assembles the scooter in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, using Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits to maintain European design standards whilst controlling costs. The ₹1.30 lakh introductory price significantly exceeds regular 125 cc scooters but remains below premium imports.

After the first 2,500 units, pricing will increase to ₹1.38 lakh. With 1,500 units remaining at the lower price, the company is encouraging early purchases. VLF offers a 4-year/40,000 km warranty plus one year of roadside assistance.

However, distribution may limit growth, with VLF currently operating out of 12 dealerships in cities including Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru and Goa. There are plans to add 13 additional outlets too. Deliveries will begin in November 2025.
