KAW Veloce Motors has introduced the VLF Tennis, marking the Italian marque's entry into India's burgeoning electric scooter market. Priced at ₹1.30 lakh (ex-showroom), this lightweight urban commuter aims to challenge established players. Although positioned at a premium above popular models such as the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Vida V1 and Ather Rizta, the VLF Tennis sets itself apart with its compact design and lightweight construction. The scooter tips the scales at a mere 88 kg and features an aluminium swingarm paired with 12-inch wheels. A 780 mm seat height enhances accessibility, while ground clearance is just 140 mm.

The Tennis 1500W is powered by a removable 2.5 kWh battery pack, delivering an impressive range of up to 130 kilometres (IDC). The hub motor produces a continuous power output of 1.5 kW, allowing the scooter to reach a top speed of 65 kmph. A 720-watt charger is included, requiring approximately three hours for a full charge.
In terms of equipment, the VLF Tennis comes fitted with LED lighting throughout and a sophisticated 5-inch colour TFT display. The suspension setup comprises a telescopic fork and a unique cantilever monoshock, while disc brakes handle braking duties at both ends.
While the Tennis 1500W commands a higher price point than its rivals, offering larger battery packs, it seeks to differentiate itself through its European design heritage and elegant architecture. The VLF Tennis will be assembled at the company's Kolhapur facility, which boasts an annual production capacity of 20,000 units. Deliveries have been confirmed to commence from November 25, 2024, onwards.
