Volkswagen Group has delivered 465,500 electric vehicles worldwide.
The Volkswagen Group announced significant growth in its global deliveries of all-electric vehicles (BEVs) during the first half of 2025, with an impressive 47 per cent increase compared to the same period last year, totaling 465,500 units worldwide. This strong performance underscores the automotive giant's accelerating shift towards sustainable mobility.
Europe emerged as a key growth driver, witnessing an exceptional 89% surge in BEV deliveries, with one in five vehicles delivered in Western Europe now being purely electric. This regional momentum contributed to Volkswagen Group solidifying its position as the clear BEV market leader in Europe, commanding approximately 28 per cent market share.
Overall, the Volkswagen Group delivered 4.41 million vehicles globally by the end of June 2025, a 1.3 per cent rise year-on-year, despite challenging market conditions in China and North America. Gains in South America (+18 per cent) and Europe (+2 per cent) significantly offset expected declines in other regions. Incoming orders across all drive types in Western Europe also saw a healthy 19 per cent increase, with BEV orders jumping by over 60 per cent, signaling strong consumer demand for new models like the VW ID.7 Tourer, CUPRA Terramar, and Audi Q6 e-tron.
The Group's successful model offensive, featuring popular electric vehicles such as the Volkswagen ID.4/ID.5, ID.3, Audi Q4 e-tron, and Škoda Enyaq, is credited for this positive development. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) deliveries also rose by 41 per cent, demonstrating increasing demand for modern hybrid solutions with extended electric ranges. Volkswagen Group remains committed to shaping the future of mobility through continuous investment in electric and autonomous driving technologies.
