Volkswagen India has introduced two new sporty trims for its popular Virtus compact sedan—the Virtus GT Line and the Virtus GT Plus Sport. The new variants aim to enhance the brand's offerings with performance-oriented styling and features. The Virtus GT Line is priced at ₹14.07 lakh, while the Virtus GT Plus Sport is priced at ₹17.84 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom, India).
The Virtus GT Line is packed with safety and convenience features, offering a well-rounded driving experience. Safety is a top priority with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and Hill Hold Control. Additionally, front and rear fog lamps provide better visibility in adverse weather conditions.
Inside the cabin, the GT Line is equipped with a digital instrument panel, automatic climate control, and ambient lighting. The aluminium pedals and black leatherette upholstery with grey stitching add a sporty flair to the interior.
The exterior of the Virtus GT Line also gets a sporty overhaul. It features blacked-out LED headlamps with LED DRLs, a darkened front grille, and a boot lid spoiler. The window line and Virtus badging also have a blacked-out treatment. The sedan rides on 16-inch alloy wheels, also in black. Other notable exterior features include GT Line badging, blacked-out ORVMs, and an electric sunroof.
The Virtus GT Plus Sport takes things up a notch with additional sporty elements. It adds red accents on the steering wheel and seat covers, and a completely blacked-out cabin for a racier look. Red ambient lighting and aluminium pedals give the cabin a more performance-focused vibe. The seats are upholstered in black leatherette, similar to the GT Line, but with added red touches to distinguish it from the sportier version.
Mechanically, the two versions differ slightly. The Virtus GT Plus Sport is powered by a more powerful 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine, which can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. On the other hand, the Virtus GT Line is equipped with a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, available with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.
