Volvo has confirmed that it will launch its two flagship electric vehicles in India on October 12, 2026.
Volvo has officially announced that it will launch two new flagship all-electric vehicles in the Indian market on October 12, 2026. The incoming lineup comprises the EX90 electric SUV and the ES90 electric sedan, both serving as top-tier electric offerings within their respective body styles.
Built on Volvo's advanced SPA2 800-volt EV architecture, these flagships introduce advanced technological features to the brand's portfolio, including Level 3 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) supported by a prominent windshield-mounted radar module.
The EX90 incorporates a closed-off front grille, five-pixel vertical fog lamps, aero wheels ranging from 20 to 22 inches, flush door handles, and C-shaped taillights. A key highlight is its updated pixel-style Thor’s Hammer headlights, which feature daytime running lights that physically shift aside to reveal the main headlights in a modern take on pop-up lighting units.
The clutter-free interior centres around a 14.5-inch portrait-oriented infotainment display powered by a Google-based operating system, integrating climate controls and primary vehicle functions. Drivers are provided with a 9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch head-up display.

Alongside the SUV, Volvo will introduce the ES90, an electric luxury sedan acting as the spiritual successor to the S90 sedan that was discontinued in India in 2025. The ES90 mirrors much of the EX90's design language and tech, including a closed front fascia, windshield radar housing, vertical brake lights, C-shaped taillights, and up to 22-inch alloy wheels, while achieving a slippery 0.25 Cd drag coefficient.
Both electric flagships share identical battery and motor options. The entry setup pairs a 92 kWh battery with a single rear-wheel-drive motor outputting 333 bhp and 480 Nm of torque, yielding a driving range of 565 km on the EX90 and up to 664 km on the lighter, more aerodynamic ES90.

The upper-tier specification utilises a 106 kWh battery with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration generating up to 680 bhp and 870 Nm of torque, enabling a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of four seconds. Maximum range for the 106 kWh battery reaches 608 km on the EX90 SUV and 696 km on the ES90 sedan.
