Until now, WhatsApp users had to drag images from their photo gallery.
Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp has introduced a new "Sticker Maker" tool for iOS users, allowing users to create and edit their stickers directly within the app.
Until now, WhatsApp users had to drag images from their photo gallery or use third-party apps to make custom stickers. The new tool streamlines the process by letting people turn photos into stickers or customize existing ones without leaving the app.
The sticker maker has editing tools like auto-crop, text overlays, drawing, and applying other stickers. Users can personalize their creations however they like before sending them off. All stickers sent automatically get saved in the tray for future use.
Open the sticker tray and select "Create sticker".
Pick a photo and choose a cutout area.
Customize it with text, drawings, and other stickers.
If you have existing Stickers, long-press to edit them.
The sticker maker debuted on WhatsApp Web and is now rolling out to iOS users on version 17 and above. There's no word of when Android users will get this tool.
