It's World Environment Day, and what better way to celebrate it by acknowledging the best electric two-wheelers sold in India, in our opinion. EVs have clearly become very popular of late, and the rise in sales numbers is a testament to that. From TVS to Bajaj and newcomers like Ultraviolette Automotive and Matter, there are quite a bunch of exciting options now. Here are the top 5 notable models that gets our thumbs up for being practical, exciting to ride, and look at:

TVS iQube

2025 TVS iQube

The TVS iQube is one of the most practical and value for money electric scooters on sale in India right now. It’s been leading the  EV sales chart for the past two monthsFurther aiding this momentum was the latest update meted out to the mid-spec S and top-of-the-line ST trims of the iQube. Both received an aggressive price slash to the tune of almost ₹30,000. In addition to that, both the trims also gained a new beige coloured seat which in turn has helped up its premium quotient as well. So if you want a no-fuss family electric scooter with a good bunch of features, the iQube remains our top pick.premium quotient as well.

Bajaj Chetak

Keeping in mind overall sales, Bajaj has been leading the EV charge in the country with the Chetak. Over the past few months, it has undergone some aggressive updates to expand into several new variants. From the more premium 35 series to the low-cost 29 series, the Chetak is now available in four variants with either a 3.5 kWh battery pack or a 2.9 kWh option. However, Bajaj Auto is not done and it is gearing up to launch a refreshed version of the 2903 in the coming months. The Bajaj Chetak is the ideal option for anyone looking for a stylish and easy-to-ride electric scooter.

Ather 450X

Ather Energy holds the distinction of being one of those few EV startups to offer a reliable electric scooter, right from day one. Ever since its launch, the Ather 450Xhas been our go-to-recommended sporty electric scooter.. It looks sharp, feels exciting and engaging to ride, comes with a bunch of features and has never “broken down”, which one of its peers has been plagued with. It was based on these solid foundations that Ather Energy also launched its second most popular offering, the Rizta. So if you’re looking for excitement in the EV scooter space, the Ather 450X still remains your best choice.

Matter Aera 5000

Matter Aera 5000

The Matter Aera 5000 is one of the most unique electric motorcycles in the country at the moment. Currently, it is only on sale in Gujarat and Bengaluru, but that doesn’t take away the fact that it is the only electric motorcycle that delivers a similar riding experience as to ICE bikes. It comes with a 4-speed gearbox, plus the battery pack is also liquid-cooled, another USP that helps it stand out. To further reassure its consumer, Matter recently launched a Lifetime Warranty program with its Aera 5000 — making it the only electric motorcycle brand in India to offer the same. If you’re in the market for an electric motorcycle, which is easy to ride and doesn’t feel very different from an ICE motorcycle, the Aera 5000 is your best bet.

Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2

And if we’re talking about exciting electric two-wheelers, how can we not mention the Ultraviolette F77 Mach2. The fastest and most exciting electric motorcycle to ride in India. Priced from ₹2.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) onwards, the UV F77 Mach 2 might be an expensive affair, but that heavy price will get you an electric bike that is powered by a 7.1 kWh battery, has an IDC-claimed range of 211 km, and can reach a top speed of 155 kmph. If you’re craving more range, then at ₹3.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), you can get the F77 Recon which is powered by a massive 10.1 kWh battery that has an IDC-claimed range of 323 km. Adding a cherry on top of this package is that sharp, striking design and the engaging handling dynamics of the electric bike.
