During the first three months of 2025, Xiaomi shipped 75,869 vehicles from its SU7 lineup.
The electric vehicle (EV) division of Chinese tech giant Xiaomi saw robust sales in May while gearing up for its next model rollout. Xiaomi EV announced via Chinese microblogging platform Weibo that it shipped more than 28,000 units last month, though it did not provide a precise figure.
This mirrors the company's April performance of "over 28,000 units," continuing an eight-month run of monthly sales above the 20,000 threshold, says a report by CNEV Post.
During the first three months of 2025, Xiaomi shipped 75,869 vehicles from its SU7 lineup, up 8.86 percent from 69,697 units in the preceding quarter, financial documents released May 27 show.
"Meanwhile, we are preparing for mass production of the Xiaomi YU7," the company posted on Weibo. The YU7 marks the automaker's entry into the SUV segment.
The SU7 electric sedan entered the market March 28, 2024, as Xiaomi's challenge to Elon Musk-owned Tesla Model 3. Three trim levels are offered: Standard at RMB 215,900 ($29,990), Pro at RMB 245,900, and Max at RMB 299,900.
Customer deliveries for Standard and Max editions commenced in April 2024, with Pro variant shipments starting the following month.
Xiaomi unveiled the SU7 Ultra on February 27, a performance-oriented sedan variant producing up to 1,548 PS. Priced from RMB 529,900, Ultra deliveries launched March 2.
The YU7 SUV was first shown May 22, ahead of its July market introduction. The model is currently on display at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show in Shenzhen, which runs May 31 through June 8.
Beijing customers can view YU7 demonstration vehicles at 13 retail locations starting May 29. The electric SUV will appear in showrooms across 92 cities by June, Xiaomi EV indicated.
The company expanded its retail footprint by 29 locations during May, reaching 298 stores in 82 Chinese cities. Xiaomi EV operates 153 service facilities across 88 cities as of May 31.
