The inclusion is a significant milestone, not just for Xiaomi, but also for Gran Turismo.
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is set to make its digital racing debut in Gran Turismo 7, marking the brand's first-ever appearance in Sony's legendary racing simulation franchise. The car will arrive with GT7's update 1.67 on 29 January, 2026, and will be playable on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The inclusion is a significant milestone, not just for Xiaomi, but also for Gran Turismo, a series known for its uncompromising realism and traditionally conservative approach to vehicle selection. Xiaomi's entry places the SU7 Ultra alongside some of the most respected performance cars in automotive history.
The collaboration between Xiaomi and Polyphony Digital was first revealed in mid-2025, and development went far beyond a simple digital scan. Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi personally drove the SU7 Ultra at multiple circuits, including the Nürburgring Nordschleife and Tsukuba, engaging closely with Xiaomi's EV engineers.
To ensure authenticity, Xiaomi's vehicle dynamics team travelled to Polyphony Digital's Fukuoka studio to fine-tune the in-game model, validating handling, braking, and power delivery so the virtual car mirrors the real one as closely as possible.
Under the skin, the SU7 Ultra brings headline-grabbing numbers. It uses Xiaomi's in-house Hyper Tri-Motor setup, two V8s motors and one V6s motor producing a combined 1,548bhp and 1,770Nm of torque.
Built on an 800V architecture, the electric saloon sprints from 0–100kmph in just 1.98 seconds and supports ultra-fast charging, going from 10 to 80 per cent in 11 minutes.
A sophisticated chassis with double-wishbone front suspension, five-link rear layout, adaptive dampers and air springs balances track performance with everyday usability.
Those credentials are not just theoretical. In April 2025, the production-spec SU7 Ultra, equipped with an optional Track Package, clocked a 7:04.957 lap at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, setting a new record for electric executive cars and firmly establishing its performance credentials on one of the world's toughest circuits.
To mark the car's arrival in Gran Turismo 7, Polyphony Digital will host a two-week global lap-time challenge at Monza, allowing players to put the SU7 Ultra to the test and compare their times with drivers around the world.
Having already been showcased in markets including Japan, Germany, Spain and Singapore, the SU7 Ultra's move into the virtual racing arena underlines Xiaomi EV's growing global ambitions.
