Yamaha’s R3 and MT-03 get a price reduction, making these premium motorcycles more appealing to riders during the festive season.
The Yamaha R3 and MT-03 are now being offered at a reduced price thanks to the recent GST revision. The tax on sub-350cc bikes has been reduced from 28% to 18%, leading to major price cuts for several models.
The Yamaha R3 is now priced at ₹3.39 lakh, while the MT-03, its naked counterpart, is available for ₹3.30 lakh (ex-showroom). This reflects a price drop of approximately ₹20,000 for both models.
Notably, this is the second price reduction for these bikes in 2025, following a substantial ₹1.10 lakh cut in January, making them far more accessible than their 2023 launch prices.
The Yamaha R3 and MT-03 share a 321cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine, producing 41.4 bhp at 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
Both bikes feature a diamond-type frame, telescopic front forks, a rear mono-shock, and dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety.
The R3, a faired sportbike, offers a sporty riding posture, while the MT-03, a naked streetfighter, provides a more upright stance, catering to varied rider preferences. With a 14-litre fuel tank and a top speed of around 175 km/h, these bikes deliver a thrilling yet practical riding experience.
The R3 and MT-03 are known for their engaging ride, thanks to their responsive engine and well-tuned chassis. However, their initial high prices positioned them above rivals like the Aprilia RS 457 and Tuono 457.
The latest price cuts make these Yamahas more attractive, likely drawing more buyers seeking premium performance at a reasonable cost. With the festive season approaching, Yamaha’s new pricing is expected to boost sales and strengthen its foothold in the sub-350cc segment.
