KTM has unveiled the third generation of the 390 Duke globally. As we had expected, the motorcycle undergoes a major transformation and introduces features never seen before in this segment, a KTM trademark. First up the visuals and KTM designers have gone all-out with the styling of the new 390 Duke. It looks sharp, purposeful and absolutely menacing. The proportions of the bike also look larger and it now has the visual presence of a proper mid-capacity street naked.
As reported earlier, engine displacement has been hiked to 399cc but power and torque figures haven’t been shared yet. KTM claims that power output has been increased and refinement levels of the engine has been improved. The new 390 Duke gets 3 ride modes - Street, Rain & Track. The Track mode revises the TFT display settings and also offers launch control. The new TFT screen has been restyled and it now offers turn-by-turn navigation.
Other notable changes include the all-new frame with a completely new subframe. Front suspension has been upgraded to 43mm WP Apex USD fork with compression and rebound adjustability. The monoshock now gets preload and rebound adjustability as well. Braking hardware is also new courtesy larger and lighter rotors and cornering ABS with supermoto mode comes standard.
As you can see, KTM has made comprehensive upgrades on the 2023 390 Duke and this will push the price even further. We expect the 2023 KTM 390 Duke to go on sale in India by September, 2023 and it could retail for around Rs 3.30-3.45 lakh (ex-showroom). The new 390 Duke will be pitched against the BMW G 310 R, Honda CB300R and the upcoming bikes such as the TVS Apache RTR 310 and the Yamaha MT-03.
