2024 Acko Drive Awards: Honda Dio 125 Wins The Scooter Of The Year

The Honda Dio is a name that needs not much introduction. The sportier sibling of the Activa has been doing well for decades. For 2023, Honda decided to bring the 125 cc version into the market and we are glad that it did as the Honda Dio 125 has earned the title of the 2024 Acko Drive Awards' Scooter Of The Year. 

It was quite an uphill task for the Dio 125, as the category was filled with electrics galore. The only other ICE scooter was the Hero Xoom 110, which also was a very strong contender. However, the Dio’s accessibility and ease of riding and funky looks certainly left quite an impression on the jury.

Based on the same 125 cc platform as the Activa 125, the Dio 125’s youthful vibe is instantly evident. It might not be the sportiest in the class, with the motor making an honest 8.16 bhp and 10.4 Nm. However, it is just as fun to flick from one side to the other as it is stable while commuting. And not to forget the utilitarian superiority and Honda’s reliability that it comes backed with.
