The 2024 German Car Of The Year will be announced on October 3, 2023, but the jury of 38 motoring journalists from across the world, including AckoDrive’s Editor-in-Chief, Siddharth Vinayak Patankar, has now selected the five class winners. These cars belong to the Compact (up to 35,000 Euros, approx. Rs. 31 lakh), Premium (up to 70,000 Euros, approx. Rs. 62 lakh), Luxury (Over 70000 Euros), New Energy, and Performance categories.

The five victorious models have been selected from all new cars launched within the past twelve months. The winner of the Compact segment was the MG 4. The MG4 is an affordable hatchback and has a RWD-focused design.

The Premium segment winner was the Volkswagen ID.7. A premium 4-door electric sedan that will soon make its way to global markets.

The Kia EV9 was the class winner in the Luxury category. It is one of the biggest of the lot and has three rows of seating, which is practical as well. India is likely to get this product soon, but we are waiting to know more from Kia.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 won in the New Energy category. This category focuses on alternative powertrains, and the jury was convinced that the Ioniq 6 was the best in this class.

Finally, it was the Porsche 911 Carrera T that won in the performance class. A 911 GT3 at a budget with a manual transmission that is absolutely brilliant.

Now, it all comes down to who among these five will win the top prize of German Car Of the Year.
