2024 Hero Glamour 125 vs Bajaj Freedom 125 - Spec Comparison

Hero has recently updated the Glamour 125 for 2024 with a just new colour, nothing quite significant. On the other hand, the Bajaj Freedom 125 has emerged as a strong competitor in the segment, boasting a unique CNG-petrol fuel system and affordable pricing. Here's a spec comparison to help you understand where the Hero Glamour 125 stands in comparison to a modern offering like the Bajaj Freedom 125.

Engine

Although the Hero Glamour has a higher power output, it comes with the higher cost of running on petrol. In contrast, the lower power output of the Bajaj Freedom 125, combined with the low cost of CNG fuel, may be a compromise that commuter users would find acceptable. Both bikes have a 5-speed gearbox. The CNG system can be switched to petrol if needed. However, there is no fuel gauge for the petrol fuel level, which is a drawback.

Underpinnings 

The suspension and brake components at the front are identical, but the Bajaj Freedom 125 has a smaller 17-/16-inch wheel setup. Both bikes come with tubeless tyres. The rear drum brake sizes are also the same at 130 mm. Additionally, the Freedom’s rear suspension features a linkage-type monoshock system, designed to provide more travel in a compact space for the shock absorber unit. This is another thing that can be seen on this commuter from a performance segment vehicle. 

Dimensions

The Bajaj Freedom 125 has a smaller footprint but appears longer due to its seat extending up to the tank lid. Despite its compact size, the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG weighs 27 kg more than its counterpart, primarily due to its CNG tank. In comparison, the Hero Glamour 125 has a lower seat height of 35 mm and a higher ground clearance of 10 mm. 

Features 

The top variant of the Bajaj Freedom 125 gets a digital instrument cluster with basic notification connectivity. In contrast, the Hero Glamour 125 gets a digital instrument cluster on both variants but lacks connectivity options. However, the Hero Glamour Xtec 125 variant comes with connectivity features, setting it apart from the standard Glamour 125.

​​The Bajaj Freedom 125 comes in 3 variants, with the top variant featuring a disc brake and digital instrument cluster. The Hero Glamour 125 also comes in two variants - drum brake and disc brake, with an additional variant called the Hero Glamour Xtec 125 that boasts a slightly different design.

The Bajaj Freedom 125 is priced between ₹95,000 to ₹1.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the Hero Glamour 125 starts at ₹83,598 for the drum brake model and ₹87,598 for the disc brake model.
