Small tweaks but no price hike for the 160 cc sporty Hero.
Keeping its most premium 160 cc offering fresh and relevant, Hero MotoCorp has silently updated the Xtreme 160R 4V for 2024. Although mechanically the same as before, the 2024 Xtreme 160R 4V gains a few additional features and updates. Starting with that new paint option that Hero MotoCorp is calling Kevlar Brown making it the third colour option in the bikes portfolio after Neon Shooting Star and Stealth Black.
Beyond that, Hero has also made a few tweaks. Like the new single-piece design that Hero says is more comfortable for the pillion, instead of the two-piece seat design that the bike used to come with earlier. Additionally, it now also gets a drag race timer and panic brake alert (which sees the tail light and turn indicator flash during sudden braking), both of which are first-in-segment features. But the crown piece has to be the introduction of dual-channel ABS, thus finally bringing the Xtreme 160R 4V on par with its rivals like the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
Besides these additions, the 160 cc Xtreme continues to be powered by the same 163.22 cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine that is good for 16.6 bhp and 14.6 Nm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Similarly, hardware components like the USD fork and preload-adjustable monoshock have been untouched too.
Despite these new updates, the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V arrives at no additional cost from the earlier edition. It continues to be priced at ₹1.38 lakh (ex-showroom), which should help strengthen its case against its rivals.
