The unique Honda ADV scooter offering gets two new colour options as part of the model year update.
Honda has given its adventure-styled scooter, the ADV 160, a colour refresh for the 2024 model year. The latest iteration of the scooter has been introduced in overseas markets with a fresh palette of colours but let's have a look at this unique offering as it seems to be interesting for the Indian market.
2024 Honda ADV 160 now gets two new colours that complement its adventurous character. The new grey and white colour options introduced for the 2024 model year add to the rugged look of the scooter. Unfortunately, this stylish scooter is currently only available in Malaysia. India's two-wheeler market could greatly benefit from such a unique offering, potentially setting a new benchmark for the segment.

The Honda ADV 160 is a unique blend of scooter practicality and adventure bike styling. While it's classified as a scooter, its design is far removed from the typical scooter silhouette. A prominent, high-mounted spine runs through the centre of the bike, creating a step-through design that's more like a motorcycle. Combined with its tall windscreen, rugged bodywork, and chunky tyres, the Honda ADV 160 offers an adventurous look in the scooter segment. A muscular apron at the front houses the aggressive-looking twin LED headlights, further emphasising the scooter's off-road character. The tail is also long and houses a rather spacious stepped-design seat.
In terms of riding features, the Honda scooter has traction control and dual-channel ABS. Additionally, it offers creature comforts such as a height-adjustable windscreen and a smart key system. Along with this it gets all LED lighting, digital instrument cluster and charging in the underseat storage compartment which is a massive 30 litre.
Powering the ADV 160 is a robust 156.9cc liquid-cooled engine that delivers a healthy 15.8 bhp and 14.7 Nm. It is coupled with a CVT gearbox. On the engine front, it is quite similar to what the Yamaha Aerox offers with only the missing link of VVA technology.
The Honda ADV 160 is built on a robust chassis designed to handle both urban environments and light off-road conditions. The scooter features a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers. It rolls on a combination of 14-inch front and 13-inch rear alloy wheels, shod with chunky, dual-purpose tyres. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, ensuring confident stopping power along with ABS.
While the 2024 Honda ADV 160 has captured the attention of enthusiasts worldwide, there is still no official word on its India launch. Despite India's sluggish adoption of 150cc scooters, particularly those with liquid cooling, this 2024 Honda ADV 160 has the potential to be a unique proposition in our market. By raising the bar it could become a compelling rival to established players like Yamaha Aerox 155 and trigger the Indian market's interest in 150cc liquid-cooled scooters.
