Renault has unveiled its latest offering in the compact SUV segment with the introduction of the new generation Captur. Positioned to set new standards in its class, the Captur aims to capitalise on the burgeoning market for SUVs, which currently accounts for half of all sales in the B-segment, constituting 30 per cent of the total market.
Remaining true to its roots, the new Captur retains its hallmark versatility, two-tone body colours, and spacious interior, while introducing a plethora of innovative high-tech features. Building on its DNA, the new-generation Captur boasts a refreshed design both inside and out, exuding elegance and a hint of sporting spirit with the introduction of the new Esprit Alpine finish.
Inside the cabin, occupants are greeted with new upholstery options and updated dashboard screens, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal and functionality of the vehicle. Moreover, depending on the version, the Captur offers the cutting-edge OpenR Link multimedia system with Google built-in, providing seamless connectivity and access to Android Automotive 12, a first in the B-segment.
Safety features have also been significantly bolstered in the new Captur, thanks to an entirely new electronic architecture that integrates the latest generation of driving aids. These include the predictive hybrid driving function and Active Driver Assist, enabling Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities, thereby raising the bar for safety in its segment.
Performance-wise, customers will have a choice of five engines, with the 145 bhp E-Tech full hybrid option standing out as a popular choice, already garnering over 41 per cent of customer preferences in France. Renault has also revised the running gear and recalibrated the power steering system. Additionally, depending on the version, the Extended Grip system ensures optimized traction across various driving conditions.
