Royal Enfield is slated to introduce a slew of updates that will introduce modern features to this rather retro roadster.
Royal Enfield’s most popular model, the Classic 350, is all set to receive a small mid-life update today. Royal Enfield is expected to introduce a bunch of subtle updates, both functional and aesthetic, the likes of which we have discussed below:
Starting with that vintage-styled analog instrument cluster. While the layout of this cluster, including the dials, tripometer, and speedometer, will remain the same. We expect Royal Enfield to introduce the gear shift indicator with the Classic 350—a much-needed inclusion. Besides, Royal Enfield’s Tripper navigation pod will remain available as standard on the top chrome edition and as an accessory on the other trims.
The Chennai-based manufacturer is expected to introduce adjustable levers to adapt operations to riders’ liking. Although the modern J-series engine has a lighter clutch than the old UCE, it is still one of the heavier ones to operate in the segment. This new feature should aid riders with smaller hands in clasping the levers better, fostering more confidence and allowing them to enjoy the ride more conveniently.
However, the most significant upgrade is expected to be the availability of the new LED headlight, which seems to have been lifted from the Super Meteor 650, Himalayan 450 and other modern Royal Enfields. Top variants like Dark and Chrome might be available with LED indicators, too, like the ones we have seen in the Super Meteor 650. The LED pilot lamp, headlight, and tail light are expected to be standard across all variants.
Beyond these updates, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 will mechanically remain unchanged. The 349 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine will continue with its 20.2 bhp/27 Nm tune, paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
Royal Enfield is also likely to introduce new colour options to spruce up its appeal. Expect prices to also go up, somewhere between ₹5000-₹7000 depending on the price variant. Stay tuned for a thorough update coming later this evening.
