The E-Class LWB impressed the jury with its luxury, brand value and value-for-money proposition it offers.
The luxury segment in India has been on a growth sprout and Mercedes-Benz has been at the top of the game. So much so, that the latest generation of one of its highest-selling models, the E-Class, has won the Luxury Car category at the 2025 Acko Drive Awards. The E-Class won for the luxury, brand value and value-for-money proposition it offers.
The other contenders in this category included many big names like the BMW 5 Series, BYD Seal, Porsche Panamera, Rolls Royce Spectre and other models from Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG like the CLE and C 63 S E Performance and GLC 43 4Matic Coupé, respectively.
While there were a lot of compelling choices in this segment, the E-Class really showed its mettle compared to its rivals. The Indian-spec E-Class long wheelbase (LWB) is quite different from the global-spec LWB and regular wheelbase versions. Firstly, India is the only country to get a right hand drive (RHD) version of the E-Class LWB and it also gets a full-sized spare wheel that doesn’t eat up in to the boot space.
